CT-N Teams Up with Local Media Outlets for Primary Night Telecast

So Many Candidates, So Little Time –

CT-N to Team Up with Hartford Courant, FOX CT and

Connecticut Mirror for Primary Night Telecast

Hartford, CT – For voters looking to make sense of the political landscape on Primary Night, three of Connecticut’s leading sources for state government and public affairs information are joining forces. CT-N, CT1 Media, the parent company of FOX CT and Hartford Courant, and the Connecticut Mirror announced their collaboration today, which will provide Connecticut residents with unparalleled access to information on the outcome of primary elections on August 10.

“With so many contested races, this year’s primary will have a profound impact on Connecticut state government,” according to Paul Giguere, Connecticut Public Affairs Network President and CEO. “The need for comprehensive and unbiased information on the process is at its most critical on a night like that, and we’re pleased to be working with FOX CT, the Hartford Courant and the Connecticut Mirror to be that information source for engaged citizens statewide.”

“This is a very exciting year for politics in Connecticut and we are pleased to be partnering with CT-N to cover this very important primary election,” said Rich Graziano, publisher of The Courant and general manager of FOX CT. “Connecticut’s Newsroom has provided extensive reporting on all of the candidates throughout this campaign. It makes sense that on election night we would continue that comprehensive coverage with live reports and analysis of the results.”

"August 10 is an important day for the future of our state, and we look forward to being part of this collaborative effort to keep the people of Connecticut informed," said Michael Regan, Editor of the Connecticut Mirror.

Live Primary Night Coverage hosted by CT-N Election Coordinator Diane Smith will begin at 7 p.m. and provide complete coverage of the elections process and election returns from around the state. The telecast will be simulcast on CT-N.com, courant.com and CTnow.com and will feature field reports from The Courant, FOX CT and Mirror reporters throughout the evening. Viewers will also be able to follow AP election numbers on CT-N, FOX CT, or any of their affiliated websites.
